We are looking for an educational counselor for Vocational Swedish

Merit conducts Vocational Swedish on behalf of the Employment Service with various focuses in collaboration with vocational training programs, at different educational providers, and on-site at Merit. The teaching is closely tied to the participants and the vocational language they need for their ongoing vocational training and for communication in their future profession.

As a counselor with us, you will work closely with teaching educators, participants, and educational providers. Your role is to support participants in making conscious choices, creating motivation, and clear career plans that lead to education and employment.

Your tasks

• Conduct individual assessments and counseling sessions

• Support participants in their study and career choices related to language and vocational direction

• Collaborate with educators and vocational training programs to create coherence in the initiative

• Contribute to each participant developing a sustainable career plan

We are looking for someone who has

At least one (1) year of full-time studies at the post-secondary level with passing results

At least three (3) years of work experience in one of the following areas:

• recruitment, restructuring work, or career guidance
• work with labor market issues
• handling personnel matters (not just administration)
• social and group psychology study and career guidance

It is advantageous if you have experience teaching Vocational Swedish, preferably in one of the following professional areas:

• Care and nursing
• Restaurant
• Transport
• Construction
• Industry
